Description
THROMBOFIT:
- A Therapeutic Support Supplement for Thrombocytopenia in Pets.
- THROMBOFIT is a therapeutic herbal supplement indicated for the management of thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) in pets caused by tick fever, worm infestations and infectious diseases. It helps improve platelet. (thrombocyte) count, red blood cell (RBC) count and haemoglobin (Hb) levels in dogs, cats and ornamental birds.
- With regular supplementation along with standard therapeutic treatment, platelet levels in dogs and cats generally return to normal within 3-4 weeks.
Composition:
- Carica papaya, Vitis vinifera, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia bellirica, Terminalia chebula, Ocimum sanctum and Withania somnifera
Each 10 ml contains:
- Carica papaya leaf extract-300 mg
- Other herbal extracts – 1000 mg
Usage:
Recommended dose of Carica papaya extract:
- 20 mg/kg body weight daily for 3-4 weeks in Dogs
Small breeds: 10 ml daily.
Medium breeds: 20 ml daily.
Large breeds: 30 ml daily.
- The total daily dose may be given once daily or divided into two doses (morning & evening).
Cats, Ornamental Birds, Sheep & Goats:
- Dose is similar to dogs or as directed by a Veterinarian.
Thrombocytopenia
- Thrombocytopenia is commonly associated with:
- Infectious diseases, Neoplasia (cancer), Immune-mediated disorders, Pancreatitis, Drug-induced conditions (e.g., anti-cancer therapies).
- Approximately 5% of dogs admitted to veterinary hospitals present with low platelet counts.
Tick Fever
- Tick fever is one of the most common and serious diseases in dogs in India. It is highly prevalent across regions including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and coastal areas.
- Spread through tick bites & Caused by organisms such as: Ehrlichia canis, Babesia canis, Anaplasma species. Hepatozoon canis & Trypanosoma species.
Note: Tick fever does not affect cats.
