External Preparations
Dartix Shampoo
- Dartix is indicated for heavy Flea & Tick infestations. It is safe on pet’s hair and coat and stays longer for lasting protection.
Composition:
Dartix Shampoo: Fipronil 10mg/ml & Base q.s.
Dose:
Dartix Shampoo:
- Apply sufficient quantity of shampoo. Approximately, 0.5-1 ml of shampoo per kg b.wt will be sufficient to cover the entire body.
Mode of action:
- Fipronil blocks GABA gated chloride channels in the central nervous system. Disruption of the GABA receptors by fipronil prevents the uptake of chloride ions resulting in excess neuronal stimulation and death of the target insect.
Indications:
- Dartix is indicated for the effective treatment and prevention of all life stages of ectoparasites including Ticks responsible for tick fever, Flea causing Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) and Lice in Dogs and Cats.
Directions for Use:
- Wet the coat, apply shampoo, rub well to produce lather. Massage gently on the opposite direction of Hair coat which allows the shampoo to contact the dermal layers. Allow the shampoo to act for minimum 15-20 minutes for better results and rinse well with plain water.
Side effects:
- Temporary clumping or spiking of the hair may be seen at the application site after treatment. Mild and transient skin reactions at the application site (itching, hair loss) may occur. If the cat licks the application site after treatment, temporary excessive salivation may be observed.
Safety Limit:
- Fipronil is indicated for Dog and Cats. It is approved for use on all Dogs and Cats including breeding, pregnant, and lactating bitches, queens and Puppies and kittens as young as 8 weeks.
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Keep out of reach of Children.
