- Carel-M Shampoo is a Medicated shampoo recommended for the topical treatment of Dermatitis in Dogs and Cats.
Composition:
Each ml contains:
- Miconazole IP 2% w/v, Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP 2% w/v, Shampoo Base with Colour & Perfume q.s.
Dose:
- Apply sufficient quantity of shampoo. Approximately, 0.5-1 ml of shampoo per kg b wt will be sufficient to cover the entire body.
Pharmacodynamics:
- The primary mechanism of Miconazole Nitrate is inhibition of the CYP450 14a-lanosterol demethylase enzyme, which results in altered ergosterol production and impaired fungal cell membrane composition and permeability, which in turn leads to cation, phosphate, and low molecular weight protein leakage and causes fungal death and further multiplication. The positively charged chlorhexidine molecule reacts with negatively charged phosphate groups on microbial cell surfaces this reaction destroys the integrity of cell, allowing leakage of intracellular material, and allows chlorhexidine to enter the cell, causing precipitation of cytoplasmic components and causes bacterial death and controls its growth.
Indications:
- Carel-M Shampoo for dogs and cats is an excellent product to remove scales from the surface of the pet. It helps to degrease the coat effectively and successfully kills all microorganisms that are responsible for causing dermatitis. This is specially formulated to help treat all kinds of skin ailments of dogs and cats.
Directions for use:
- Remove the plug given inside. Wet the coat thoroughly with warm water. Apply sufficient shampoo to create a rich lather over the entire body. Allow it to remain on hair for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Side effects:
- Common side effects include itching, dryness, redness and burning sensation at the application site, dryness of hair, discolouration of hair and abnormal hair texture.
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children.
